Luke Ross: About Me PDF Print E-mail
History:

First to really get to know me, you need to understand my history. I am the third of four children, ALL GIRLS! My parent raised me in the Parkrose district of North-East Portland Oregon. We lived in a humble single story ranch home with just a few bedrooms, but as the only boy in the house, I got the room alone while the girls normally shared. It was an interesting childhood, but I will not go too far into that because that is a whole book in itself. My father was also a techno junkie, but unfortunately, he did not have the "aptitude" for computers. It is the same as me owning a classic car, which I do, but unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about it. This is where my father and I split. He has the mechanics brain and is afraid of computers, and I am the computer guy who is scared of mechanics.

First Computer
My father bought me the first computer for our family, which was an IBM 386, which we later upgraded to a 486DX. This is when I started. Initially, I really wanted to get into films, but I did not have the equipment. So, instead I began by learning 3d and 2d animation. This was exciting at the time, but it was terrible when you had to render over 100,000 polygons at 30 frames per second on a 486 computer. In layman's term, It took roughly 4 days for a 15 second animation.

More to come......
