Waiting for the results.. Ford Sync Contest and Bowling

Well, I am still waiting to find out what happened with the Ford Sync Contest entry.  They were supposed to notify the winners yesterday but they have not notified me yet. So, either I did not win anything, or they are like most video contests and are just running behind schedule.

While I wait, I will be mentally prepping myself for our final night of Bowling.  Last week we were sneaking up on the First Place team, and hopefully were able to overtake them but we will not know until we show up. Tonight will be the biggest night for our Team this year. I will let you all know how it goes.  I bowled on Sunday and rolled a 232, 217, 207 and 178.

Ford Sync Results - First Place Winner

Well, we got the results in from the Ford Sync Your Life Contest entry, and unfortunately, we did not win Grand Prize, but we did win the First Place Prize. We won an $1,100 Sony HD Camcorder. Below is a screen-shot of the email. Thanks to Brian Lukrich who co-produced this with me, Riley, Bill, Kelsey, Viri, Lexis, and Kaitlyn for working on this project with me. Without you guys, it wouldn't have been possible. Thanks to everyone else for your support, voting, and commenting on the video. It was a lot of Fun, and hey.. Top 5 out of 460, isn't that bad. :)

Ford Sync Prize Arrives and what the heck?

Today, I received the prize as promised from ePrize LLC who was hosting the Ford Sync Your Life contest, which I recently took first place prize which was supposed to be an $1,100 camcorder.  I was anxious today to open the box to see what had been sent. It was a Sony HDR-UX10 HD Camcorder sent via amazon.  So, first thing I do is hop on Amazon to see what it is worth, and low and behold, you can purchase this camera for $599!!! I thought, wow, I just signed a release for tax reasons that stated the value of the prize I would have to claim on a 1099 would be valued at $1,100.  So, I figured, well maybe its MSRP is $1,100. So, I check Sony's website and it only has a list price of $899.00.

At this point, I would have to state that I am a little bit upset at the award and the fact that I already hate Sony camcorder's and now I am stuck with one that I likely couldnt sell for more than $500, and I would loose $250 of that at least in taxes this upcoming year. Ohh, and the camcorder doesnt even support SDHC memory cards.  So, I have sent them a nice long email, and await their reply.

UPDATE: 07/14/2008
After a few emails back and forth with ePrize, they have decided to send me the remaining $300 to even the score.  Good for them. :)
